             I am a recent college graduate who just returned from a backpacking trip in Europe. I had the incredible opportunity to explore so many amazing countries and become immersed in the unique cultures and customs of the local people.  I went into the trip with an open mind and ready for new experiences, however there were many situations in which I was grateful that I was prepared for since the luxuries of home were sometimes limited. 

        Besides bringing my REI kingdom 8 tent, a sleeping bag from Wenzel Grande, and a Black Diamond spot headlamp, one of the many items I brought with me was a silk travel sheet. This sheet made all the difference as not only is it extremely light weight which was necessary for my travels but retained and regulated the heat inside my sleeping bag and made me instantly more comfortable with the reassurance of what strange germs I was touching. I was no longer concerned with the cleanliness of my sleeping bag or the hostels I was staying in night after night.

WHAT IS A SILK TRAVEL SHEET ?

​The idea of the silk travel sheet is that it is significantly lighter and thinner than cotton which is ideal in any traveling situation. I found although the silk is theoretically more expensive, the benefits that came with it being compact overruled the potential money I could’ve saved by buying cotton.
